A little more evidence
The rumour going around is that the scientists are getting nowhere with their tests. They have released these two images above that were found in his diary in the horsebox. The cords given are for his double garage, which is or was his workshop at home. They believe he was ‘sending’ the animals there, and eventually bringing them back to Culham.
They also cannot find out what the solution is referred to…..a secret formula no doubt! Another rumour doing the rounds is that a full-scale search of the locality might happen. I’ll press them for more of the diary entriesTuesday, March 14, 2006
Oh Lucky Man!
One other piece of evidence they handed over was a betting slip from the race. Seems like Ouroboros, although favourite did not win, coming in sixth, but his other horse, Calydonian Boar did. By the looks of the odds on the slip he must have drifted out to 15 to 1 from the initial declared odds. With a £2500 bet to win, Jones would have cleared nigh on £37000. The slip was the on course Tote, wonder if he had other bets?
Both his horses were carrying the heaviest weights I see.

Release of information

Finally got something out of the MP's, told they will release more in the days to follow. This was framed and hanging up inside the horsebox. Have not studied it much as only just received it. Follow this link to a pdf copy.

A News Blackout

Its been a while since I last used this blog and that’s because there has been a news blackout on the case. I know that’s not stopped me before, but this time it was serious. Not just the force are involved now, but the whole intelligence/military establishment are on the scene now.
Just over a week ago, the scientists at Culham were running the last tests in their large tokamak before firing it up again when Jones appeared again. You can just see him in the photograph attached. A day later and the inside of this machine would have been a plasma ring at 40-50 million degrees Celsius! He’s getting very faint to say the least.
Culham alerted us to his ‘appearance’, but then one of the security guards mentioned that he had also recently seen Jones’s ghost like image over in the commercial sector of the site. He led us over to a large Nissan hut that bore the company’s name of Ouroboros Enterprises. A check with Companies House revealed that Jones was the only registered director and a search warrant was quickly obtained.
Once inside it first appeared to be a lock up for a large horsebox, (see photo) which sat fair and square in the middle, then we noticed various bits of apparatus lying around. But what raised our suspicions more was the very large power cable that was plugged into the side of the vehicle. Don’t know how he could have obtained that connection but I was told that it could take enough juice to power a small town. The tokamak has a bigger direct feed from Didcot so Jones must have tapped into it.
But all hell let loose when we went inside the vehicle. It was just like a lab, with a large box, not unlike Dr Who’s Tardis, suspended, yes suspended, in the middle where the horses would normally have been housed. It was then that Culhams’ Director who had been accompanied by a man from the ministry stopped the search. Within minutes, military police stationed at Benson had helicoptered in and secured the area, and within the hour, two more helicopters had arrived from god knows where, full of officials.
At a meeting convened the next day, we were told in no uncertain terms that the building and its contents were being impounded in the national interest, and that we, the police, would only be involved, if and when necessary.
Friday I was called to the site again to see that it was secured by a ring of fencing with a full guard of MP’s protecting it. The security guard who had led us to the building came over to me and had said that they had been running tests on the horse box all week and the rumour on the site was that Jones had been looking into teleportation.
I said it earlier didn’t I; we are into the realms of science fiction!
Ouroboros, I later found out was the name of one of Jones’s most successful horses, now in stud and making pots of money, lucky blighter. And Ouroboros! an ancient alchemy symbol depicting a snake swallowing its own tail, constantly recreating itself. There must be something in all these links, what do you think?

Calydonian Boar

The head stable lad at Channon’s stables phoned in today to say that one of Jones horses, Calydonian Boar, was behaving oddly. She would spook easily and for no apparent reason, and had thrown her jockey off several times during the early morning ride out on the top gallops. The lad had been present when Jones’s other syndicate punter had taken the ghosted photo. Jones was well liked by all the stable lads being a generous tipper, and was genuinely missed by all.
Why had he bothered to phone about an unseating, must happen all the time? Which in fact it does, but the lad went onto to say that all Jones other horses had been ‘not themselves’ recently.
How many other horses?
Four more according to the lad, all syndicated though.
That must be expensive?
It is, and especially when you have got a couple over at West Lockinge Farm as well!
That did not mean that much, but when he added…
‘Henrietta Knight’s stables, Best Mate’s trainer’ did the penny drop, or should I say pounds as I had him in the office sweepstake a couple of years ago.
Looks like I will have to take a visit to these yards.
For some reason I googled Calydonian Boar, to find not only was it a monster in greek mythology but there is a frieze depicting the hunt in the Ashmolean Museum in Beaumont Street. Not that far from Jones’s office in the science area.
Damn, should have asked for the names of his other horses although what it would have given me I have not a clue.

Car found
Our enquires appear to be showing some reward as we received a call from the Met to say that Jones’s car had been found in one of their car pounds in west London. It had been in a residents parking spot in South Kensington since before Christmas and had been towed away about a month later. It was registered in France which was why they couldn’t trace the owner.
It was only after they searched the interior did a bank statement come to light. A rather healthy one, especially as the car was a battered old 2CV. Car was pretty clean, in the forensic sense apart from a large number of betting slips and race cards. Both UK and French race courses.
Jones’s wife had no idea of his interest in Horse Racing and could not explain his visits to Deuville and Longchamp. She always thought that those trips abroad were to either Cern, which is huge and lies underneath France and Switzerland. Or to the The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble (Twin city of Oxford!) which is a smaller version of the Harwell one. She also had no idea about the bank account that the statement was for. Seems rather bewildered by all the revelations.Lewis
